Description

The K-12 Educator Workshop will focus on a basic introduction to Maya archaeology and cultural heritage of the Maya today.

The annual Tulane Maya Symposium has called upon scholars from a wide spectrum of specialties—archaeology, art history, cultural anthropology, epigraphy, history, and linguistics—to elucidate the many facets of this fascinating Mesoamerican culture. In developing a broad approach to the subject matter, we aim to draw the interest of experts and beginners alike!

A message from the Sci High study abroad students:

We are 10 students from New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School chosen to travel to Yucatan, Mexico this summer.

Our trip will include learning about access to clean water on the peninsula, designing and carrying out two service projects, learning about contemporary Maya life through a home stay in a Maya community, touring two ancient Maya archaeological sites, practicing our Spanish, and so much more!

We are working hard to raise the funds to make our trip happen – and you can help! Thank you for your support!
